ABOUT US

Petersfield WI is part of the National Federation of Women's Institutes (NFWI), the largest women's organisation in the UK. Petersfield has long been home to the Women’s Institute, proudly celebrating 110 years of friendship, community, and women supporting women.

In 2024, Petersfield WI was formed in response to a growing desire for a modern, vibrant branch that could offer more flexibility for busy lives. It quickly became clear that there was enthusiasm for both an afternoon and an evening group—ensuring every woman in the town could find her place.

To secure a strong, united, and sustainable future for the WI in Petersfield, the two branches have now merged, creating one dynamic organisation with a flexible, exciting programme of meetings, events, and activities. This marks an exciting new chapter, safeguarding lifelong learning, connection, and opportunity for women of all ages.

We are an inclusive and welcoming group, where friendships are formed, ideas are shared, and laughter is guaranteed.

Our monthly meetings feature guest speakers, hands-on workshops, and social activities, covering a wide range of topics from history and literature to cooking, well-being, and sustainability.

Beyond our main meetings, we also organise:

  • Social events & day trips

  • Book club, walking groups & cinema meetups

  • Workshops and skills-based learning

  • Charity fundraising & community projects

New members are always welcome! You can find out how to join our WI community below.
